Representatives from Bolivia travel to Catalonia to complete a course on integral waste management

Representatives from Bolivia have traveled to Barcelona to conduct a course on integral waste management, which takes place from September 28 to October 2, 2015, within the framework of the project subsidized by the Barcelona Provincial Council, of the 2015 call "implementation of selective collection, composting and recycling in Bolivia ", led by the Association of Catalan Municipalities for Selective Door-to-Door Collection, which has as partners the project of the Waste Agency of Catalonia, the Mancomunidad la plana and the company Spora .

The project gives continuity to the technical assistance to consolidate the experiences in waste management of the municipalities of Tiquipaya and Vinto and turn them into a benchmark in Bolivia, subsidized by the Diputación de Barcelona within the framework of the 2014 grants.

The project includes, among others, the implementation of selective collection in 4 more neighborhoods of the municipalities of Tiquipaya and Vinto, preparation of a study for the design of selective collection and composting for the commonthwealth of the Valle Alto, exchange of experiences between Catalonia and Bolivia and exchange between different municipalities of Bolivia.

During the visit to Barcelona there will be training sessions and several visits to experiences in selective collection door-to-door, payment per generation, technology applied to the collection and visits to facilities and composting plants, with the objective of technically training institutionally and discuss the different ways to consolidate and guide the correct management of waste in their municipalities.
